Hands on Healing

What is healing?
Healing, or spiritual healing as it is often called, has a tradition that is both ancient and well documented in many cultural writings. It is not the same as faith healing in that no specific religious beliefs are necessary for it to be effective.
What does a healer do?
With the intention to help, a healer is acting as a conductor for universal healing energy and is able to transmit this energy through his/her hands to you. Also, using the sensitivity of his/her hands, the healer is able to feel your energy field, which exists around the body, and help to rebalance this.
What are the energetic layers of the body?
The energetic layers or aura consist of four rings around the body - spiritual, mental, emotional and physical - and their energy centres of the body known as chakras. A problem in any one of the layers impacts on the next. There are seven major chakras identified in ancient Eastern philosophy, connected to the endocrine system, running down the central line of the body which act as openings in the aura. They each vibrate at a different rate and have their own colour, and they are the vortexes through which energy is given and received. Our chakras, and subsequently our auras, should be bright, clear, strong and protective but through the life experiences we all encounter they can become weakened and cease to function efficiently, creating an imbalance. Through his/her hands the healer can sense this imbalance through any of the auric layers and chakras and give healing to redress the problem.
The benefits of healing
The benefits of healing may be immediate or can take up to three days to be felt. Healing is non-invasive and often people find it a peaceful experience.
What happens in a healing session?
The healing takes place with you sitting on an upright chair with the healer moving quietly around the chair. The healer works in the energy field of the body, only touching the feet and shoulders lightly at the beginning and the end, and occasionally the back of the neck and shoulders.
An important part of the healing session is the discussion afterwards. During this time the healer will discuss any insights that came up during the healing. These insights can be invaluable tools for you to take away and reflect on, as it is through awareness of the way we deal with life that our healing journey can be the most meaningful.
When can healing be given?
Healing is safe and can be given at any stage during the breast cancer journey.
The number and length of appointments
It is usually recommended that a course of three healing sessions are given. The first lasts approximately 35 minutes and the next two last 25 minutes each.
