Ear Acupuncture

What is ear acupuncture?
Ear acupuncture is, as the name suggests, acupuncture to the outer ear. Five small sterile disposable needles are placed in designated acupuncture points in each outer ear. Acupuncture helps restore balance and improving functioning in the body. It is based on Traditional Chinese Medical (TCM) Theory. The needles used are extremely small and fine, very different from needles used for injections.
What can ear acupuncture help with?
According to Chinese medicine, ear acupuncture can help rebalancing the body’s energy system, which in turn may reduce a range of symptoms including hot flushes and night sweats, insomnia, anxiety, depression. It is an opportunity to give yourself time to care for your health and well-being.
What happens in an ear acupuncture group?
Ear acupuncture is run as a weekly drop-in group at all Havens. During the group, the acupuncturist inserts 5 tiny acupuncture needles into the outer ears of each person. The needles are in place for a minimum of 30 minutes during which time you are able to simply relax. This whole experience can leave you feeling more grounded, refreshed, and relaxed.
