Our Patron
"I am enormously proud to be Patron of The Haven and to support the marvellous services that it offers to women and their families affected by breast cancer. The Haven, with its dedicated teams of staff and therapists, provides high quality support, information and complementary therapies to many individuals affected by this awful disease, and I am particularly pleased that its programme offers integrated healthcare, which means harnessing the best conventional and complementary approaches to combat both the physical and emotional effects of breast cancer and its treatment. I have had the great pleasure of meeting many of the Haven’s remarkable Visitors, most recently when I visited The Haven in Leeds in 2009, where I learned much about what a huge difference the charity has made to their lives. I am also both moved and impressed by the staff and supporters who are so resolute in their determination to do all that they can to help improve the lives of individuals living with this dreadful disease. This comes with my warmest congratulations to everyone who has made The Haven’s work possible and with immense gratitude for your efforts to make a difference for the better to the lives of all those affected by breast cancer."

Our Founder

Sara Davenport founded The Haven in 1997 because she was concerned by the lack of emotional support and information available at that time to anyone diagnosed with the illness.
